About D2 United
D2 United started in August of 2005 as a medium so players could share information regarding Diablo 2 as well as other online games. One of its main purposes back then was to unite all six realms of the Diablo 2 universe together so players could see how they match up with other players from around the world. D2 United continues with that pride and remains the only site on the net today that offers merged ladders of all six Diablo 2 realms.       Another thing that is important to us is our stance on third party hacks. Many sites out there make a living off the distribution of these hacks and if they can get away with it, more power to them. We on the other hand will never ever have any of these hacks available for download and will exist solely in an effort to keep the game as pure as possible.       In November of 2006, D2 United introduced its Trading Post to the public. This was a big step to clean up many of the things that we felt were leading to the never ending decaying economy of online item sites that only want to make money and not care about the game. As much as we wish the trade channel in the game itself could be the only way to trade items, sites whose main purpose is one person to make money kind of ruined all of that and it will never go back to the way it was. Because of this, D2 United started its very own trading currency (United Currency) to use in the Trading Post. What makes United Currency so great is that when you sell it back to the site, you will get real money back for it, not like all these other sites whose populations get bigger and bigger hence less valuable. Our intent is to spread the wealth so anyone can make money if they want, not just one person. We feel this is the only way to bring back some of the integrity of online item trading. More information about United Currency and trading in general can be seen in the information section of the Trading Post.       Other things we have added to make D2 United the new era of online trading and gaming is to have a well organized group of forums so members can talk about anything from their favorite online games to who won the game last night. There is also a place in these forums for guilds to create their own protected forums that only their guild mates can access. A Ventrilo server for your guild is also available. We also have a gallery that allows members to have their own albums as well as a place to put less personal pictures and screenshots. An arcade for our members is also available with over 200 games to choose from. Members can challenge other members, play solely for high scores and league points, or they can compete in tournaments. We hope this diversity of things attract many purists from around the world.       D2 United will not stop there. What makes D2 United so great is that we know this is your site and not ours.
